Kemah, TX

After Hurricane Ike destroyed the original Yacht club in 2008, a new single-story facility was built on the same site overlooking Galveston Bay. Then new club house was designed in the Bermuda architecture style and features an inviting foyer and covered observation porch overlooking Galveston Bay, a formal living room and adjoining adult bar, a casual family dining room with adjoining formal dining room, and a junior dining area for the children. On the south end of the clubhouse, an attached covered patio overlooks the pool area and its bathhouse. On the north end of the clubhouse stands a separate two-story building with locker rooms, a staff area, and six boutique hotel-like suites available for member use throughout the year.

There is also a junior clubhouse to provide separate recreational and meeting space for the members’ children. The marine facility consists of a quarter-mile long pier, complete with water and electrical service, a recreational pavilion, and full boat lift operations for a fleet of 17 sailboats and 35 powerboats. A large deck area is attached to the pier to accommodate 50 spaces for board boats. Additionally, there are 3 launching ramps at the water’s edge, a dry storage rack for board boats, and a trailer storage lot all on campus in support of the water-born activities.
