Sonoma is a proposed mixed-use urban village development designed to enhance the pedestrian-friendly environment of Houston’s Rice Village neighborhood. The master plan integrates 119 residential units, 150,000 square feet of retail and office space, four restaurants, an urban grocery store, and 679 parking spaces.
Planned in two phases, the development combines luxury condominium living with shopping, dining, and workplace environments. Phase I features a full-block residential and commercial building with integrated parking, ground-level retail and office spaces, and condominiums surrounding a landscaped garden level with a resort-style pool, courtyard, and curved fitness center. Phase II introduces two seven-story mixed-use buildings connected by a brick-paved pedestrian plaza designed to accommodate outdoor dining, farmers markets, and community gatherings, creating a vibrant, walkable urban destination.
Inspired by traditional European architecture, Sonoma features plaster façades, red tile roofs, decorative pilasters, balconies, and distinctive curved corner windows. Thoughtful architectural details, including a grand two-story arched entrance, prominent staircases, and inviting pedestrian connections, reinforce the development’s village-inspired character. The integration of residential, retail, office, and public gathering spaces creates a cohesive mixed-use environment that promotes walkability, community interaction, and an engaging urban lifestyle in the heart of Rice Village.
