St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community

The Ziegler Cooper Architects and Fretz Construction Company team have recently partnered on a campus expansion for the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, a well-established neighborhood church in the Garden Oaks subdivision of Houston, Texas. The project includes a much needed expansion to their early child care center, a new pre-school building and a parish hall to their existing campus nestled in the community just west of Shepherd and North of 34th.

St. Rose of Lima Parish has provided a consistent ministry for the Garden Oaks area since 1946 within their campus. The three additional buildings maintain the original architectural character of the campus while preserving the community centered concept. The buildings are sited for future growth, creating a series of small gardens and courtyard for visitors, staff and children to enjoy.

In March, concrete footings were poured for the Early Childcare Center and Pre-K wing. In April, the steel beams began to be erected revealing the shape of the structures. Children from the school and Early Childcare Center were able to leave their mark on the new buildings by signing a beam. While the beam will be covered up during construction, the 2012 classes at St. Rose of Lima community have left their indelible impression on the school. Anticipated completed is fall of 2012.
