Arch-Con Corporation
Arch-con Corporation based in Houston is a multi-faceted general contractor providing design and construction services for a variety of commercial projects. Ziegler Cooper Architects has recently designed a new 21,000 s.f. office building to accommodate the rapidly expanding staff of Arch-Con Corporation; a Houston-based general contractor. The resulting building is a 3-story tilt-up concrete structure that takes maximum advantage of the site and announces its presence among surrounding buildings in the River Oaks area of Houston.
The floor plates open plan and the asymmetric efficient core allows tenants the ability to utilize the flexible, well proportioned space for almost any purpose. The third floor (to be occupied by Arch-Con) has the additional advantage of a terrace on the North side with beautiful downtown views. In addition to surface parking on the site, parking space is also provided on the first floor of the building for the tenants and visitors. The second and third floors have an open plan and asymmetric efficient core that give tenants the ability to utilize the flexible, well proportioned space for almost any purpose. The tilt-up surface of the building is broken by reveals, and punctured windows that allow unhindered views from the site. A Nanawall installation forms the wall separating the main conference room from this terrace and is an ideal solution for bringing natural light into the room and allowing for an expandable but cohesive space.
