EDF Trading
EDF Trading is a leading player in the global energy markets. It has its own portfolio of assets, and these, combined with EDF Group businesses, give it the ability to source, supply, transport, store, blend and convert physical commodities across the wholesale energy markets. The company headquarters are based in London, and it has approximately 800 employees with offices in the UK, Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada. Ziegler Cooper was hired to provide con-current occupancy interior renovation services for the Client´s office located in the Houston Energy Corridor.
The existing plan layout was reused, with the exception of creating more open plan area at the expense of the private office count. 269 total seats are provided in a ratio of 95 percent open/ 5% closed. Other planning requirements included creating a large, centrally located break room to serve as an employee destination, a new reception area, new conference rooms and a multi-purpose meeting and training room.
In keeping with the London office, the EDF global standards were used to create a more consistent branding message. The colors and materials are light with bright accent colors, and bench-style workspaces were deployed as part of the new furniture scope in a small area. The new space is contemporary in feel, and purposefully minimal.
