St. John XXIII High School Athletic Center

Katy, TX

St. John XXIII, a growing Catholic High School in Katy, Texas, recently completed the next step of their Master Plan by adding a competition gymnasium and a first phase of a new student center. Ziegler Cooper developed the master plan in 2009 to allow the school to grow as needs and funds could be identified.

The gymnasium, designed with a glue laminated wood deck structure system, will play a vital role in the maturity of the schools novice athletic programs. Strong basic forms of brick and stone masonry with standing seam metal roofing were used to continue and compliment the architectural character of the campus.
